Master's Degree in Instructional Technology and Leadership

Sid Miller

Sid discovered years ago that he had a love for helping people learn. He also discovered that he had an innate ability to understand technology, learn it himself, and then translate that new knowledge into words that others could also understand.

There are lots of people who can grasp a complex topic and put that information to use. However not many people can take that information and put it in a format that is easy to digest and instantly usable for others. Creating immediate value for students is what sets great trainers and instructors apart from the pack.

Sid attained a degree in Business Management because he liked working with people. But when he discovered that he also liked working with technology and computers, the next step was obvious: by obtaining a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology and Leadership he could combine both his passions. And so he did.

"I just like to help people realize their true potential."

It is the same when I teach. That's why I truly enjoy helping people learn and watching them learn skills that will improve their productivity, efficiency and ultimately their overall quality of life.

Sid Miller,
Microsoft Outlook Instructor

Sid has not only facilitated numerous classes on technology, both live and computer-based, but he has been asked to speak to various audiences regarding personal productivity, teamwork, and time management.

He has been a Featured Speaker on the subject of personal time management and organizational skills at "Together We Can!" - a week-long workshop conducted by the Teacher's Education Association of Texas. Sid was also asked to be a Featured Speaker four years in a row on the subject of teamwork, leadership and time management to over 200 high school students at a four-day leadership camp sponsored by a Texas corporation.

Leading and teaching others is apparently in Sid's blood in other ways, too. As an avid runner and marathoner, he currently helps coach a beginning runners group in Birmingham, Alabama called the Couch to 5K. The Couch to 5K program is designed for anyone new to running or anyone trying to get back into a healthy lifestyle.

Sid says, "The satisfaction of seeing someone's face as they cross the finish at their first 5K race is incredibly rewarding." Once they finish their first 5K, many of the participants continue on to run 10K's, half marathons, and even full marathons. "Running is one of the biggest challenges many people face voluntarily. Once it occurs to them that they are making a choice to face this challenge, choosing to conquer their own fears, their lives change right before your eyes."
