MSN Messenger can be vastly improved by removing the unwanted 'features' with programs from mess.be or apatch.tk

I use a lot of those programs, and I would also recommend Meebo (www.meebo.com) for instant messaging.. it's web-based, allows you to log into all your accounts in one place (including MySpace and some others) and works great (combines buddy lists, etc). Not to mention you can use it anywhere...

I agree with this list 100% I also agree with Get Ubuntu, or any version of *nix, however as much as I am a fan of Linux, I would like to point out that viruses in Linux, while they may not infect your Linux box (because of the filesystem), you can still pass them on to your Windoze using buddies.

Light-weight Alternetives for the Bloated and Annoying apps listed:

Real Player: VLC
Adobe Acrobat Reader: FoxitPDF
Norton Anti-Virus: AVG and/or MalwareBytes
MSN Messenger (Eww..most annoying!)Pidgin or GAIM
Vista UAC: No Alt due to the whole OS Stinks!!!
Bring on Windows 7 and put Vista to rest!!

Get Ubuntu - problem solved.

No Vista Security feature - You're the Boss

No Real Player - Try Totem or Mplayer

No Acrobat Reader - PDF files work perfect just with OpenOffice

No Norton Antivirus - No viruses on Ubuntu, they are all made for Windows. And if you get one, they can't actually do anything - you're safe because of the password system

No MSN Messenger - Pidgen does it all: *AIM*Bonjour*Gadu-Gadu*Google Talk* Groupwise*ICQ*IRC*MSN*MySpaceIM*QQ*SILC*SIMPLE*Sametime*XMPP*Yahoo!

If the MSN ads annoy you, try using a-patch... cleans all the unnecessary stuff out and makes messenger worth keeping.

I agree with Real Player and Norton, but the Vista Security Feature is a very important security function, and if you have already configured a computer, you will hardly see any of these dialogs.
Acrobat isn't taking much o my power, and MSN is nearly the most used software on my computer!
