Christopher Rees Chris has been heavily involved with computers since the age of 8 or so, starting off with the early Tandy TRS-80's and has been hooked ever since. Being involved with the online world and technology before the advent of the "commercial internet" Chris ran several bulletin board (BBS) systems years before the Internet became a household word.

Always tinkering and figuring out how things worked has been a lifelong pursuit that Chris enjoys sharing with others. Whether it's building or repair computers, troubleshooting a network or designing a website Chris enjoys streamlining a student's learning curve and making it fun in the process.

Chris has always had a passion for technology and being creative and he has managed to incorporate these passions into whatever he does. This includes having been a police officer who specialized in computer based crimes and online predators.

Former Police Officer and Detective

While a police officer and detective Chris was investigated numerous computer crimes and online predator cases. This included making a number of arrests of online predators that generated quite a bit of local media attention. He received training from top law enforcement training centers in the world, including the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA.

He felt especially fortunate to have the opportunity to make a difference and help protect children from the many dangers that can be found online. This is one of the reasons he created Palaestra's Internet Safety Training Series to educate parents and to empower them to develop a firm understanding of the internet, the technologies surrounding it and how to keep up with the face changing pace.

It's been a fun journey that's taken me to a lot of places and put me in contact with many different types of people throughout my career. This has allowed me to be able to relate to a wide variety of people, and tailor my presentation to a format that makes the most sense for the audience at any given time. I consider it a privilege to be able to share my knowledge with you.

Never liking to sit still for very long, Chris took his passion for technology to the next level in the late 90's and become an IT professional specializing in network and systems administration and web design. During the next few years he acquired a number of certifications, including:

A+
Network+
Server+
Microsoft MCSE
Cisco CCNA and CCNP

In addition to acquiring technical knowledge, he also enjoys sharing that knowledge with others - so he added trainer to the many hats he wears and acquired his Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) certification.

Students range from IT Professionals to FBI Special Agents

In addition to being an accomplished classroom instructor, he has been a speaker and presenter at several fortune 500 companies on the topic of internet safety. His students have ranged from people looking to change careers, to IT professionals and FBI Special Agents.

Chris has created Computer Based Training (CBTs) training series that have sold thousands of copies worldwide, and looks forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the world around him.

In addition to technology and training, Chris enjoys spending time with family and friends, all types of sports, exercise and weight training. Chris lives in New Jersey with his wife and three children.
